Simple Divorce

We handle the most complicated family cases. However, if you have a simple "uncontested" divorce case, we will also be more than happy to assist you.

Uncontested Divorce Price: For purpose of this offer, a Louisiana simple divorce is a divorce based on having already lived separate and apart for more than 180 days without reconciliation, immediately prior to filing of petition for divorce.  If you have a minor child, the period of physical separation required by law is 365 days.  It is also called an uncontested divorce or a 103 divorce.  It does not involve any ancilliary or incidental matters such as custody, child support, spousal support, or community property issues, or any other issue other than the 103 divorce, and the petition filed on your behalf will be based solely on physical separation from your spouse.  During your first appointment, which lasts about 1 hour, we will prepare and file your petition for divorce.  As such, be ready to file when you first visit our office. (No Walk-ins).

FEE NOT APPLICABLE TO INTERNATIONAL DIVORCES: Please Call for Attorney's Fees if your case involves an International Divorce. (where one party lives abroad).  FEE NOT APPLICABLE IF SPOUSE'S WHEREABOUTS ARE UNKNOWN.

Court Costs
Expenses

Although the above-stated attorney's fee is a flat fee, the court cost is a deposit and may increase or be slightly less during the handling of your case, unless your case becomes a complicated matter.

The sum of  $400  for an uncontested divorce is usually the amount required by the Clerk of Court at the time of initial filing of your petition.  This is subject to change every year by the Louisiana legislature.

Note: We  handle divorces only in the parishes of Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, Vermilion, Iberia, Acadia, and St. Mary.

No additional expenses or fees are charged, except that if you spouse lives outside Louisiana, we charge a flat Fedex or UPS fee for service of process. There is a minimum charge for this service of $100 for domestic shipping and a $200 fee for International shipping.  Attorney's fees and other Charges for Service under the La Hague Convention in member countries vary.
